Documentary film with producer Shizumi Shigeto Manale

Born in Hiroshima, Japan, after WWII, Shizumi Shigeto Manale endeavors to promote multicultural understanding and acceptance with her work. Her film, “Pictures from a Hiroshima Schoolyard” tells the story of two communities on opposite sides of World War II who exchange gifts after a horrific human tragedy, and the children’s surprisingly joyful drawings that represent the legacy of one simple act of kindness.
